Acryl and gouache on paper, 70*100 cm

Agenda Uganda, 2008
Acryl and gouache on canvas, 40*100 cm
I made the painting "Wolf in Amex Clothes" for the Danish charity auction "Kunst i Paasken 2010".

The auction is created by volunteers from Denmark Against Land Mines (http://www.landminer.dk/dml/) and Rotary (http://www.rotaryscholarship.dk/uk/om_rotary_uk.htm), a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service.

"Kunst i Paasken 2010" is an exhibition of collected art works donated from different artists and all profits support the Rotary projects in Uganda.

The art works are on display in Copenhagen in Byggeriets Hus, Godthaabsvej 33, Frederiksberg from March 26 to April 9, 2010. The online auction is held by Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers and takes place from March 26 - April 10, 2010. You can place your bid at http://www.bruun-rasmussen.dk.

Last year I made the painting "Agenda Uganda" for "Kunst i Paasken 20092, it was sold for 550 euros and the whole auction raised the amazing amount of 19.736 euros.

The Rotary projects in Uganda

The main goal is detecting and removing land mines and unexploded ammunition in Uganda. This task is sponsored by DANIDA and accomplished by specially trained personel from Uganda's army and police. Education and technical support is provided by The Danish De-mining Group (DDG).

Despite the efforts to clear the country for all land mines, it will always be dangerous to live in these areas.
The Rotary Clubs from Frederiksberg and Denmark Against Land Mines want to finance a campaign to raise awareness amongst refugees returning to their homes. It is especially important to inform the children.

50.000,00 $ raised by "Kunst i Paasken" paid all costs for two teams in 6 months.

The organization Denmark Against Landmines has promised to pay another 50.000,00 $ for the next 6 months, January - June in 2009.

The project in Uganda combines the clearing of land mines with the settlement of refugees in northern Uganda.

Since the truce between Uganda's government and the rebel movement,Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) more than 10 years of war in northern Uganda has ended.

The democratic government is now in control of the country, and it is time to bring the 1,3 million refugees from the refugee camps in Uganda back to their villages.

The main part of the refugees are farmers and cattle breeders. When they leave the refugee camps all they have left to come home to will be a small piece of land. Luckily, the ground is fertile and the climate is good. But it is necessary with a starting package.

The Rotary Club in Frederiksberg is supporting these packages. The homecoming package includes sowing seeds, fertilizer, two shovels, a plow, a mosquito net, a filter for water cleansing and two models for brick production.
Families that are provided with these packages, have a better chance to get settled quickly and start building up their lives after returning home.

In 2008 "Kunst i Paasken" raised enough money to provide for 280 of these packages i.e., helping about 2200 people.
